Rex Wackerle
Vice President & Director of Government Affairs, Prudential Insurance Company
As Vice President and Director of Prudential Financial’s Washington office, Mr. Wackerle is responsible for the oversight of Prudential’s activities in Washington, D.C., particularly all legislative and regulatory issues that affect the company within Congress, federal agencies, and the Administration.
Prior to joining Prudential, Wackerle served in a similar position as Senior Vice President and Director of Bank of America’s Federal and International Government Relations Office in Washington. In this position, Wackerle oversaw the Bank’s strategic and legislative approaches in areas such as financial services reform, International Monetary Fund reforms and reauthorization, securities litigation reform, and various other financial, tax and regulatory issues.
Wackerle has also worked in Northrop Grumman’s Washington office where he represented the corporation’s aerospace programs before Congress and in the appropriations process. He also represented Northrop Grumman’s positions on taxation, environmental, and health and human resource issues.
Wackerle’s professional associations include member of the ACLI, FLSG Committee, past Chairman of the American Banker’s Association Legislative Affairs Committee, the Business Government Relations Council, and Chairman of the Tax Committee of Electronics Industries Association Legislative Affairs Council. Included among his civic activities have been the Board of Directors of the Congressional Award, Board member and Chair of The George Washington University Graduate School Political Management Board of Advisors, Board member of the Lab School, past Treasurer and Chairman of the Board of the Bryce Harlow Foundation, Executive Committee of the Public Affairs Council, Board of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Executive Committee for the Arlington United Way, and the Arlington Economic Futures Committee.
Wackerle graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law and is a member of the D.C. Bar. He also earned an M.B.A. from The George Washington University and a B.S. in Accounting from Arizona State University. He is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, the American Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, and the Association of M.B.A. Executives.
