WASHINGTON, April 5, 2021 – The George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) received a $100,000 pledge towards a new endowed scholarship. Jordan Bernstein ’98, chief operating officer of the government relations firm Cassidy & Associates and co-chair of the GSPM Board of Advisors, pledged the gift funding a scholarship that will bear his name.
The Jordan Bernstein Endowed Scholarship, once fully funded, will offer a need-based award granted to one student enrolled in the GSPM Legislative Affairs master’s program. This is currently the only scholarship designated exclusively for GSPM Legislative Affairs students.
“GSPM was such an important part of getting me started in my professional career that I wanted to ensure others had the same opportunity to pursue their interests in government service,” said Bernstein. “GSPM is the ultimate training ground and I am just happy I am able to support the next generation of dedicated and engaged students.”
As the chief operating officer of Cassidy & Associates, Bernstein stands among the leading government relations professionals in our nation’s capital. He has served in several leadership roles since joining Cassidy in 2004 and continues to represent a wide variety of clients, ranging from national non-profit organizations to international corporations. Before entering the private sector, Bernstein served as chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R-Mo.) for seven years. Bernstein earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University and graduated from GSPM’s Political Management master’s program in 1998.
“We are grateful to Jordan Bernstein for his generous gift to the Graduate School of Political Management,” said GSPM director Dr. Lara Brown. “His endowed scholarship will assist Legislative Affairs students for generations. We are truly fortunate to have Jordan's consistent and continuing support as our co-chair of the GSPM Board of Advisors.”
