Tuition & Financial Assistance
Tuition rates vary by program and location and are maintained by GW's Student Accounts office. Find the program you'd like to pursue in the College of Professional Studies to view the tuition rate.
Financial Assistance
There are various ways to receive financial assistance at GW, from loans to fellowships to federal work-study. These resources are available through the university’s Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA). The OSFA oversees the processing of all loans for students who have been admitted to a GW graduate degree or approved graduate certificate program.
GSPM's programs are designed for working professionals and classes meet on weekday evenings. We recommend asking your employer if they provide financial assistance to employees seeking a master's degree.
Merit-Based Scholarships: Incoming Students
GSPM has a limited number of merit-based scholarships. These are awarded each year to incoming masters program students by a faculty committee and typically cover tuition for between 1-4 classes.
Incoming applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 3.3 or higher are encouraged to submit a scholarship application form by the following Deadlines.
Incoming applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 3.7 or higher are eligible to be considered as a GSPM Scholar, which includes a $20,000 tuition award. To apply please use this scholarship application form and apply by the following Deadlines. This is a competitive process and having a 3.7 undergraduate GPA does not guarantee that you will be selected as a GSPM Scholar.

O'Dwyer Fund for Student Loan Forgiveness
Funded by GSPM board member emeritus Brian J. O'Dwyer and his wife Marianna, the O'Dwyer Fund for Student Loan Forgiveness encourages GSPM graduates to take jobs in the public sector by helping to pay some of their student loan debt. With their support, the O'Dwyers hoped that graduates would pursue careers in the public sector rather than feeling pressured to take higher-paying jobs in other fields.
The O’Dwyer Fund offers “forgivable” loans to recent GSPM graduates who carry significant loan debt and who are employed in the public sector. These loans are to be used to pay down the graduate’s private or federally subsidized student loans that were used for undergraduate or GSPM studies.
The scope of this program each year depends on the amount of funds available from the O’Dwyer Fund. For additional information, please refer to the O’Dwyer Fund Program Description and FAQs. The application for this year is now open and should be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024. You will need to submit an Employer Certification Form and Loan Information Template with your application. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
