Lisa Apps serves as a Communication Officer for Marquette University Police Department in Milwaukee, WI. She recently earned a Master of Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. During her time in Milwaukee, she had been involved in the local community organizations, campus community and United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County.

Apps is a seasoned human resources and administrative professional and also served in the political arena for more than 15 years having worked on state, gubernatorial and presidential election campaigns. She is a certified human resources professional and earned a Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute in 2006.

Prior to moving back to Milwaukee, Lisa worked as a human resource professional in South Bend, IN, and Washington, DC for non-profits and a trade association including the Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County, The Israel Project and the Grocery Manufacturers Association. Before that, she worked as regional field director for Bob Graham’s presidential campaign in New Hampshire. Additionally, Apps served as a mailroom director and a staff assistant for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. While living in DC, she also played an active role in the Women’s Information Network (WIN) and the National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC).

Lisa Apps earned a Master of Arts in political management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the University of Maryland, University College. She attended Marquette University for political science and interned with Marquette’s Les Aspin Center for Government in Washington, DC. Ms. Apps is a student alumnus of the Presidential Classroom Program.

Currently, she resides in Milwaukee, WI. She was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI where she started her work in political campaigns and state government.
