Founding Partner at Sena Kozar Strategies

Dan Sena is a Founding Partner at Sena Kozar Strategies. Dubbed a “mastermind” by The New York Times, he is one of the premier strategists in the Democratic Party. Dan got his start as an organizer in the South Valley of New Mexico and has gone on to lead some of the country’s top political organizations and campaigns, counseling presidential candidates, Senators, Governors, and Congressional leaders for over two decades. The last time Donald Trump was in the White House, he led the charge to successfully take back the House into Democratic hands, and he’s ready to do it again.

Since founding the firm, Dan has advised top campaigns, including U.S. Senator Ben Ray Luján, Congressional Black Caucus Chair Steven Horsford, and Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez. He also leads the independent expenditure campaign for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus’s political arm, BOLD PAC, as well as the firm’s work with Senate Majority PAC, DCCC, EDF Action Votes, LCV Victory Fund, and End Citizens United.

Prior to founding Sena Kozar Strategies, Dan served as Executive Director of the DCCC for the groundbreaking 2018 election cycle. Recognized by The Washington Post and NBC News as the “architect” of the historic Democratic takeover of the U.S. House of Representatives, he led the effort to flip more than 40 seats. The first Hispanic to ever lead a national political committee, Dan was honored by the American Association of Political Consultants as Democratic Strategist of the Year in 2018 and named to POLITICO’s Power List.

Born and raised in Northern New Mexico, Dan is a graduate of the University of Arizona and The George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM). He lives in Loudoun County, Virginia, with his wife and two children.
