WASHINGTON – The Graduate School of Political Management at the George Washington University (GSPM) announced B.J. Martino as the newest member of the GSPM Board of Advisors. Martino is a partner with The Tarrance Group, a political research and strategy firm, where he engineers direct strategic research programs for national, state, and local campaigns.

Martino graduated from GSPM in 2000 with a master’s degree in political management. Martino also served as an adjunct professor at GSPM.

“It is an honor to join the GSPM Board of Advisors,” said Martino. “Having studied here, as well as lecturing and teaching over the years, I know the value that the GSPM’s education brings to our students and the community. In this new capacity, I am excited to help the school shape and produce the next generation of political professionals.”

Martino specializes in qualitative focus group research, particularly with respect to Republican campaigns and issues. His work has earned him several accolades, including a 2012 “Republican Strategist of the Year” award from the American Association of Political Consultants.

“As our nation appears as divided as ever in recent history, it is my hope that the board can continue to assist our students in becoming true professionals; passionate yet civil, invested yet clear-eyed, and confident yet humble,” said Martino. “We do this first by setting an example.”

Along with his master’s degree from GSPM, Martino earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Case Western Reserve University. Martino lives with his wife and children in Alexandria, Virginia.
