From award-winning journalism to government and strategic communications, Antonio Cabán has built a career around telling stories that inform, engage and make an impact.
Today, he serves as Associate Vice President at 90 West, a Boston-based strategic communications firm, where he draws on more than a decade of experience in journalism, public policy and communications strategy.
Before joining 90 West, Cabán served as Deputy Communications Director to Massachusetts Senate President Karen E. Spilka. In that role, he helped communicate the work of the Massachusetts Senate and supported communications surrounding major legislation, including the Student Opportunity Act, Next Generation Climate Roadmap and Mental Health ABC Act.
His career began in broadcast journalism, where he worked as a television producer in Albany, New York, before moving to Boston. His experience includes roles at WHDH, State House News Service and GBH. As a producer for GBH’s Beat the Press and Greater Boston, he was part of a team that earned consecutive New England Emmy Awards in 2018 and 2019.
After building his career in journalism and communications, Cabán earned his master’s degree in Political Management from GSPM in 2017.
Beyond his professional work, he serves as co-chair of the New Frontier Network at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library Foundation and as a board member of The Latino Newsletter, an independent nonprofit newsroom.
Most recently, Cabán was named a 2026 ALX100 Honoree, recognizing exceptional Latino American leaders making a difference in their professions and communities.
