Webinar: Politics Of A Pandemic

GAIN and George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management are pleased to bring you 2020's third segment of our joint webinar series: Politics, Communication, and Advocacy: A Practical Playbook, focused on helping government affairs professionals refresh their knowledge of the formal procedures and institutions that govern our democracy and the roles and responsibilities of each player.

This third webinar event of the year, Politics of a Pandemic: The Potential Impact of Coronavirus on the 2020 Elections will feature Lara M. Brown, Ph.D., the director of GWU's Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM).

Dr. Brown is the author of Jockeying for the American Presidency: The Political Opportunism of Aspirants (Cambria Press, 2010), the first systematic study of presidential aspirants from the 1790s through 2008. She also co-edited and contributed to two other recent books: The Presidential Leadership Dilemma: Between the Constitution and a Political Party (SUNY Press, 2013) and Campaigning for President 2016: Strategy and Tactics, 3rd edition (Routledge, forthcoming).

Join us as we benefit from Dr. Brown's wisdom on the impact of coronavirus on the November elections, the unique campaigning challenges that candidates now face because of it, and a general examination of how public perception of government changes in the face of a crisis situation.

The program will begin at 12:30pm on April 21st and run approximately 30 minutes, followed by a 15-minute Q&A period.
