Robert Hoopes is president of VOX Global, a DC-based public affairs firm and subsidiary of Omnicom, one of the world's largest communication firms. The company focuses on providing bipartisan advocacy and communications counsel to clients who are looking for partners who appreciate their organizational objectives and the way political advocacy can promote and protect the interests of the organization, employees and stakeholders.

Hoopes has been active in electoral politics for more than 25 years, getting his start in national campaigns in 1987 on then-Senator Joe Biden’s first run for President and later joining his Senate office in 1989. He also worked on the staffs of Senators Chris Dodd and Alan Dixon. Hoopes has worked on local, state and national political campaigns; most recently, he volunteered for the Obama/Biden 2008 presidential campaign and assisted with the Biden VP Transition Team.

Following his time on Capitol Hill, Hoopes worked with the1992 Clinton/Gore campaign, the Independent Insurance Agents of America as the Political Director, and in 1996, joined the world headquarters of MCI, where he directed grassroots, media and political outreach in support of passage of the 1996 Telecommunications Act and its eventual implementation. He left MCI to join Powell Tate as a Senior Managing Partner.

Since 1999, he has been an Adjunct Professor at the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management, where he taught a course entitled “Managing Government Relations.” Hoopes now serves on their Board of Advisors and is also on the Board of Trustees at Colby College.

He earned his BA in government from Colby College and a Master’s Degree in legislative affairs from the George Washington University. He has an Honorary Master’s Degree from Colby College. Hoopes lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with his wife Hilary Barnes Hoopes, thirteen-year-old twins Penelope and Riter, and ten-year-old daughter Charlotte.
