April's Let's Talk features Brookings Executive Education and Transnational Strategy Group senior advisor, GSPM adjunct professor, and former U.S. Representative Bob Carr (D-Mich.). As a member of Congress, Rep. Carr chaired the Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee and was a member of the appropriations subcommittee that funds the Departments of Commerce, Justice, and State. In addition, he served as a member of the Armed Services, Judiciary, and Natural Resources Committees. During his tenure on the Hill, Rep. Carr spent four years as chair of the Congressional Arts Caucus.
Mr. Carr currently teaches Ethics & Congress at the Graduate School of Political Management and serves on the boards of directors of the United States Association of Former Members of Congress and the Supporters of a Civil Society in Russia, Inc. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of WHYHunger.org and the Economic Innovation Institute.
