CEO, Correctional Health Services
Robert Detore is the CEO of Correctional Health Services, Inc. He has over twenty-five years of experience in the healthcare industry. In 1975 he was the president and CEO of one of the first federally qualified HMOs in New Jersey and the nation. He has taught graduate-level courses in health services management at Rutgers University.
Detore was elected Mayor of Verona, NJ in 2001. Mayor Detore began his political career in 1995 when he was elected to a four-year term on the Verona Town Council. Detore brought his skills and experience as the head of a successful business to the Town Council, where he served as the liaison to the Commercial Revitalization Committee, the Senior Citizen Advisory Council, and to the Municipal Pool Committee. In 1995, he proposed the formation of the Verona Park Conservancy.
Detore has a BA degree from the George Washington University, an MA degree from Seton Hall University, and an MPA degree from New York University. He is a former trustee of East Orange General Hospital and Cathedral Healthcare System. He is a former Director and Chairman of the Board for Mellon Bank, FSB.
