Graduate School of Political Management Appoints Two New Professionals in Residence

Experienced Advocacy Professionals to Assist in Graduate Program Development and Administration

WASHINGTON – George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management has appointed two new part-time Professionals in Residence to assist in the maintenance and growth of the school’s Advocacy in the Global Environment Program the school announced Tuesday.

Both professionals will assist GSPM Director Mark Kennedy, who is serving as the interim program director, maintain and expand its programming and enrollment.

Professional in Residence: Global Advocacy Gary Nordlinger will be the primary point of contact for students and prospects, recruit adjunct professors, and determine curriculum. Nordlinger is the president of Nordlinger Associates, a public affairs consulting firm that has provided political, research, and communications strategies for public officials, associations, labor unions, and corporations around the globe. “I am thrilled to be part of this program unique to the world,” said Nordlinger. “Our students are highly motivated professionals and our faculty are known nationally and internationally for their expertise.”

Professional in Residence: Residencies Caren Z. Turner will be responsible for recruiting participants for GSPM’s Global Perspective Residencies, heading the program’s Washington, DC residency, and recruiting non-degree students to enroll in residencies and other educational opportunities at the school. Turner is the CEO of Turner Government & Public Affairs, which has extensive experience advocating on behalf of corporations as well as social issue advocacy groups in Washington.

“These two professionals will ensure that our Advocacy in the Global Environment master’s program will continue to thrive,” said GSPM Director Kennedy. “Gary and Caren are both experienced advocacy professionals. Our students are going to benefit from their expertise and extensive professional networks.”

GSPM currently plans to post the program director position for permanent replacement at the beginning of the academic year on July 1, 2016.
